Week 1 2
For these two weeks, we assembled our team, assigned roles, and started our brainstorming process on what we wanted to do. As a group, we decided on a story that felt like Le Petit Prince. We then decided on the characters, a child with a space helmet, a rabbit, a bear and a cat; and environment, a series of planets that the child would explore, featuring a racecar planet, painting planet and mochi-making planet.
Week 3
We finalized our first section of the website putting together the Home, Script, Character and Enviro Concepts sections as a team making sure everyone's ideas were heard. In the end, we also talked about Assignment #1 to see if anyone wanted to take on modeling some parts of our final project.
Week 4
We worked on adding the Storyboard section of our website, as well as making a narrated
form to further explain what is going on in the images.
Week 5-8
This week, we created 3D models, rigged character models, and timed the camera sequences for our animatic. Each group member was in charge of a scene to compose the frames. Finally, the scenes were edited together, and sound effects were applied to bring the environment to life.
Week 9-12
For the final weeks, we refined the character rigs and animated scenes to flow more naturally from the animatic. Additionally, we created UV maps and applied textures to each environment, object, and character in each scene once the animation was completed. When the shots were fully textured, each scene was rendered and edited together with sound effects, leading to the finalization of Tiny Planets, Big Dreams!
